A backnut is a female threaded nut that is designed to thread onto a male threaded (either manually threaded or moulded) piece of PVC pipe or pipe fitting. Ostensibly, the nut is used to hold a flange in place through a tank wall, but can be used for other purposes.
Uses:
- for connecting and disconnecting two pipes more easily than with couplings.
- Socket openings on both ends for connecting two male pipes.
- PVC for strength and resistance to chemicals and corrosion, and an EPDM seal for resistance to oil, water, and some solvents.
- is suitable for connecting pipes for conveying drinking water, waste water, chemicals, and other liquids in a range of industries
